The ownership and visibility around equality beyond the college specialist is critical as is the representation of equalities within institution leadership roles, session planning and delivery of teaching and learning.

Aims of the Course

The course and the accompanying toolkit will examine what good equality, diversity and inclusion strategies in the classroom look like.

We will highlight the need for all those working within Schools, Colleges and Work Based Learning Organisations schools to not only provide and support training for good equitable strategies but to themselves promote equality though their own behaviour, teaching and learning practice.

The course will focus on the question of what needs to change and what needs to be done to achieve equality, diversity and inclusion in teaching, learning and curriculum development, design and delivery.

 

Objectives of the day

  • to explore how equality and diversity can be embedded more effectively within curriculum planning and teaching and learning delivery
  • to explore best practice and showcase practical examples
  • to understand the benefits of a curriculum for diversity
  • to explore how to engage learners and how to meet diverse needs
  • to explore standards for Observation, Teaching and Learning in an EDI context

 

This course will help you to:

  • understand what it means to embed EDI within the curriculum and how this benefits learners
  • increase your confidence when designing, planning and delivering , or carrying out lesson observations
  • improve learner satisfaction, lesson observation and learning outcomes
  • improve your practice in meeting diverse needs and making EDI integral to your everyday curriculum practice

 

Who is this Course aimed at?

This course will be of interest to colleges, schools and work-based learning organisations and is aimed at E&D managers, quality managers, staff development managers, advanced practitioners, curriculum managers, staff involved in teacher training or carrying out lesson observations, and teaching staff.

This is a face-to-face course taught by experienced professionals. It offers a range of methods to help participants develop both skills and knowledge. These include direct formal input, small and large group discussions and exercises and case study material.

Cost

Our In-House course rates are as follows:

  • Full day (One trainer - up to 20 participants): £795
  • Half day (up to 3 hour sessions): £495


We can do 2 separate half day sessions in a full day for the full day rate

For groups of more than 20, we can provide more trainers or split the delegates into smaller groups

  • Travel and subsistence costs are in addition
