Introduction
On 26 November 1968, changes came into force to do
with an important law called the Race Relations Act.
The Race Relations Act 1968 was the second of three
laws related to race in Britain.
All of the laws made it illegal to discriminate against
somebody because of the colour of their skin, which is
racial discrimination.
The population is becoming more diverse
By 2031, ethnic populations will make up 15 per cent
of the population in England and 37 per cent of the
population in London.
The increase is driven not only by the impact of
migration but by differences between fertility rates of
some ethnic groups
