P. 8
What can I do?
I want to do something to mark the day.
That the murderers of Stephen Lawrence were made to pay
I want to say something to ease the pain.
So that the Lawrence family can feel whole again.
I am in turmoil about what to do.
So, I turned to twiter to listen to you.
Some of the tweets are supporve and brave.
Others are horrific, offensive, and grave.
I’ll write a blog about my experience of the UK.
About the contribuons from BME people to make the country OK
I think about the contribuons made by my dad.
The sacrifices he made, and it makes me feel sad.
I think about the offensive language I hear whilst walking the streets.
I think about the good people around me that I meet.
It is not all bad, but it oen feels this way.
For those people who face racism every day
I am glad that the men have now been brought to account.
And hope that their sentence is pitched at the right amount.
A good number of years to help them to reflect.
On the harm that they’ve done to the family, the country and to the
fight for respect.
Respect for everyone regardless of colour
Respect for everyone, respect for one another
Bless the Lawrence family, bless the supporters and police.
Hopefully now Stephen can rest in peace.
