It is so important to highlight how much it is important for
               children to see images of role models and teachers that look

               like them. Having diverse representation benefits all students

               due to the fact that they are able to have a diverse
               curriculum, more diverse role models, and become more

               socially aware when they meet others outside of their echo

               chambers.


               Assistant headteacher Josiah Isles makes the striking point to

               put this need for representation within schools into great

               perspective when he comments, “how can we expect social

               mobility for disadvantaged students when real life examples
               seem so far out of reach?”



               Fundamentally, the diversity of educators within schools

               specifically allows for ethnic students of all ages to shape and
               widen their perception of how they view themselves, the

               potential they have to live their lives, and how they see

               others.


               Because of the consequences described in this writing,

               working to eliminate racism within schools should be an

               imperative for educators.


               Creating an inclusive learning environment


               There are many steps that can be taken in order to create an

               inclusive learning environment for ethnically diverse

               students. Here is a list of just a few things to consider when

               discussing how to create and implement learning
               environments that are inclusive:
