Lesson plans and curriculum might not be completely easy to
adapt in the moment if students are not comfortable reading

these texts, but you can open a discussion that will allow you

to alter your lesson plans for the future years to come.
Alongside this, you can get a deeper understanding behind

how to address these topics in the future.

The importance/impact of policies, processes, procedures,

               practices, and trained people

In the UK, there are various acts in place to ensure that
organisations are promoting and advocating for more equal,

diverse, and inclusive spaces. With the Equality Act 2010, the

Sex Discrimination Act, the Disability Discrimination Act, the

Race Relation Act, and the Human Rights Act, there are legal
requirements to ensure that there are policies, procedures,

and practices are in place to protect minority individuals

               within the country.

Having these systems in place can create a substantial

change within the culture of a school. According to the Race

Relations Act 1976, schools and governing bodies have a duty

to ensure that students do not face any form of racial
               discrimination, including attacks and harassment.

Schools also have obligations under the Equality Act 2010 as

employers and bodies that carry out public functions and are
service providers to make sure that pupils are protected

against discrimination and harassment based on their

               protected characteristics.
