Training content

By the end of this course delegates will be able to

  • Understand equality, diversity & discrimination perception & stereotyping
  • Have some understanding of the law and how it protects people from discrimination
  • Understand prejudice/conscious and unconscious bias and how it can impact on individuals, decision making and organisational policies, processes, procedures and practice
  • Understand the different types of discrimination, harassment, and victimisation
  • Understand how to promote diversity and reduce discrimination in the workplace
  • Understand how to avoid discrimination and challenge all forms of inequality

Equality Impact Assessments:

20th January 2020: Manchester

Training content

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand what equality impact assessments are, why they were introduced, and what they’re aiming to achieve.
  • Complete an Equality Impact Assessment template
  • Understand how EIA impacts on process, policies, procedures and practice
  • Conduct an EIA

Unconscious Bias:

24th January 2020: London (One place left)

Training content

By the end of this course delegates will be able to:

  • Appreciate the importance of understanding how unconscious bias works
  • Recognise some of their own hidden preferences, assumptions and biases
  • Think more critically and consciously when making decisions
  • Be aware of the dangers of prejudice and stereotyping other people
  • Action plan for how to implement their learning so it’s sustainable and transferrable.

Training content

By the end of the training delegates will:

  • Have the skills, knowledge and increased experience to advise, develop and support colleagues/organisation in embedding EDI into policies, processes, procedures, practice and professional development
  • Be able to deliver training/support to people on a one-to-one, small group development/talks or large group basis (face to face or via the internet).
  • Have refreshed their skills by exploring new EDI ideas and sharing best practice
  • Have explored new/current training techniques and approaches.
  • Be equipped with the skills to design and deliver equality, diversity and inclusion training sessions and activities at all levels.
  • Gain understanding of equality legislation, outlawed behaviours, how to manage conflict, deal with entrenched views, challenge unacceptable behaviour, avoid unconscious bias and use a range of learning and development approaches and techniques.
  • Have been introduced to a wide range of EDI activities and resources to support both individual and group development and personal delivery style.
  • Increased their confidence to become an effective equality, diversity and inclusion trainer.

This booking constitutes a legally binding agreement. Payment must be made before the course date. If you have not heard from us within 7 days prior to the event please contact Registrations on 0161 763 4783.

Cancellations notified more than four weeks in advance of the Course will incur no charges. Cancellations made less than four weeks before the event will be charged in full. Substitutions will be accepted right up the date of the event. We will not be held liable for the non-arrival of registration information.
