Step by step course covering all the key elements of the Equality Impact Assessment (Equality Analysis) process.

Course Overview

This training event starts at the very beginning and takes delegates step by step through all the key elements of the Equality Impact Assessment (Equality Analysis) process. The session focuses on "how to do it".

We will demystify the EIA process, assume little or no prior learning and focus on giving delegates time to debate issues, ask questions and then put into practice what they learn.

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • explain the three General Duties under the PSED.
  • understand when and why to conduct an EQIA, and how to embed it into practice.
  • use EQIA templates and tools confidently to assess impact across the nine protected characteristics.
  • recognise how EQIAs support inclusive practice, reduce risk, and support organisational values.
  • apply learning to live scenarios, case studies, and organisational policies.
  • identify actions to improve local accountability, EDI ownership, and inclusive language use.

Course Structure and Cost

The course is run as a 1-day workshop. Delivery is through a mixture of methods and involves delegates in group exercises and discussions. Training is practical and interactive.

Open Courses are delivered via Zoom. The course timings are 10.00 am to 3.30 pm
