It is important when we mess up.

To say sorry and close our mouths shut.
To stop defending the hurt we have caused.

To stop, think reflect and to pause.

To think about the person on the receiving end

To consider their feelings because of the messages you send

Leaders are people with empathy and sight.

They are not people who just want to be right.

Open your heart, open your eyes.
Consider other’s feelings and their demise.

Hurt by your words of doubt and mistrust.

This is no me for a ‘them and us’.

Leaders, lead, they stand up for our rights.

They do not just talk they role model on this an-racism fight.

We may not always remember your name,
but we will remember what you do.

An-Racism leaders are scarce and few.

Walk the walk do not just talk the talk.

This racist rhetoric needs to be fought.

               Alyson Malach
