A Poem for Unity and Inclusion

In the heart of the UK, a vision we hold dear,

A land of inclusion, where diversity we revere.

Imagine a place where actions speak loud,

Where we live, laugh, and socialise, a united crowd.

Why do we cherish animals, diverse and pure,
Yet turn a blind eye to humans, who endure?

Melanin in the skin should not incite fear,

But some treat these souls as enemies near.

Places of worship, sacred and true,

Attacked without mercy, what are we to do?
A Christian country with values so strong,

Yet harm spreads through communities, lasting long.

               Riots and unrest, anarchy's edge,

Police officers harmed, our society's pledge.

In Sunderland’s night, chaos took hold,

A police station burning, a mosque under fold.
               Right-wing voices spew venomous lies,

               Igniting fear, under darkened skies.

But we must stand firm, our spirits alight,

For unity and peace, we continue the fight.

So, let's be kind, let kindness be our creed,
In every action, in every need.

Together we can turn the tide,

Against hate and division, let's stand side by side.

For a future where everyone has a place,

Regardless of colour, religion, or race.

Let's build a UK that embraces all,
Where love and compassion stand tall.
