Page 23 - Supporting Anti-Racist practice in Schools
P. 23
A lack of role models and examples of how
to challenge racist behaviour and attitudes
can lead to tensions in young people’s
relationships over their own decisions to
challenge (or not challenge) racism faced by
friends and fellow students.
WIDER Perceptions that prejudice, disrespect and
bullying will not be addressed, increase the
IMPACTS risk of bullying on other grounds for other
students.
An understanding that ‘nothing will happen’
will lead to a reluctance to report incidents,
with implications for safe guarding and
safety.
