Stand up Speak out.
What I feel this morning is hurt, sadness and pain.
To awake to hearing news of murders, and atacks again and again
What is this world coming to what more must we endure?
I have never felt so helpless I have never felt so unsure.
There are so many murders and attacks based on religion, race, and hate.
Why can’t we just live-in harmony and see each other as mates?
Where have all our values gone, why must we berate?
Why is it that in the UK and the USA these groups and individuals
meet their fate?
Why do Jews, Black people and women connue to live in fear?
Who are these evil people who shout abuse and bile for all to hear?
Why are we not filled with hope instead of evil and hate?
What is happening to our world when everyday there’s death?
Just because someone has upset us, and we see their lives as being
worth less?
Let’s speak up and stand up, let us shout out loud.
Let us be up-standers rather than silent in the baying crowds.
If you see people being bullied if you witness people being abused
Don’t just video the event to share as yesterday’s news.
Stand up, speak out, be counted, speak up for jusce and respect.
You may not be today’s vicm, but your turn may be next.
