It Hurts

               It hurts me when people use racist terms.

               It bothers me that parents and rela�ves can influence, as it is from

               them that we learn.


               It concerns me that Clarkson thought it was OK.

               To use the N word and denigrate Black people in that way.



               It pains me that, so few people understand.

               That where there is hurt, we all need a suppor�ng hand.


               It disturbs me when people try to sweep it away.

               When they refuse to take responsibility for the cruel things that they

               do and speak



               It disgusts me when I hear 'it's just a bit of banter, it's just a bit of
               fun’.


               We all know that they are harsh words, and the damage is already
               done.



               It saddens me when, for people of colour, racism is 24/7

               It is heart wrenching to read the number that take their lives or are

               on a stairway to heaven.
