Thoughts for Internaonal Women’s Day,
For many years women have struggled to get themselves heard
They have been silenced and side-lined from the written and spoken word
In 1918 six million women over 30 got the chance to speak up
They made history by signing the book
They could vote and be listened to
They paved the way for me and for you.
The pay gap between men and women is sll too wide
Despite doing the same jobs, side by side.
Do you value the women you have in your life
Be it your mother, your daughter, your sister, your wife?
Will you help them achieve all they know they can do,
Or secretly believe it is 'righully' for you?
In 2017 Look deep in your soul and answer from the heart
Is this the kind of society of which you want to be a part?
