The Call for Allyship, Equity, and Human Rights
In England's streets, where tension brews,
An air of hate, of fear, ensues,
Where once was warmth, now cold disdain,
And skin's the mark of endless pain.
Brendan came with hope in heart,
To care, to heal, to play his part,
But fire met his open hand,
A foreigner in a hostile land.
He crossed the seas, with dreams to serve,
Yet found a world of bitter nerve,
Where colour shapes the life you lead,
And human rights fall to greed.
For those who toil in care each day,
Whose skin invites the world's dismay,
We raise our voices, stand as one,
For equity must not be done.
We call to leaders, strong and wise,
To see the world through others' eyes,
For in their hands, the power lies,
To heal the hurt, to silence cries.
Assess the risk, protect the weak,
Let not their futures feel so bleak,
Safe roads, safe homes, a place to rest,
For every soul deserves the best.
Mental health, a guiding light,
For those who tremble in the night,
Support the hearts that fear has scarred,
And guard them from the world so hard.
