This impacted the racial stereotypes we see
today, where Ethnically diverse people and
communities are often treated as though they
are 'different' in comparison to the 'normal’
White community.
WHAT IS This sense of difference underpins racism.
RACISM? Racial prejudice can be obvious or hidden,
and sometimes the people who hold this
prejudice lack the knowledge they need to
recognise it in themselves.
However, a first step towards tacking racism
is to recognise our own bias and prejudices,
however unconscious these may be.
