It is important for society at large that
subjects taught in school reflect the
experiences of black, Asian and minority
ethnic communities, their lives/histories and
their role models.
This will not only demonstrate that their lives
INTRODUCTION matter, but will help reduce racism,
stereotypes and hate.
Young people need the opportunity to
understand their rights, be proud of their
identity and learn how to deal with
inappropriate behaviours and inequalities.
