Other key steps include:
1. Explore the options open to the young
person, with the young person.
2. Consider what they want to happen next
(taking the young person's views

3. Take notes of your discussions throughout
the process, and store these in a secure
place.
4. Record the incident appropriately,
ensuring the data is confidential.
