Working in partnership to learn from the local ethnically diverse
            communities

To further racial competency, schools can also consider working

with local and ethnically diverse businesses to support their

students. For example, schools can partner with local mental

health charities with a focus on ethnically diverse backgrounds to

support the wellbeing of ethnically diverse students.

Or schools can work with local communities to offer volunteer
opportunities for students to gain more lived experiences from

            those in their communities.

Not only does this allow them to develop life skills and social
awareness, by volunteering and doing outreach work students

will have the great opportunity to immerse themselves in

activities that are usually outside of their comfort zone.

Outside of the valuable experience that students can achieve

from connecting with ethnically diverse communities, students

are able to develop employable skills. Showing a sense of
responsibility, selflessness, and respect for others within their

community, students are gaining qualities that benefit their

            entirety of society.

Hopefully, these tips can work to help teachers integrate more

ethnically diverse identities within their curriculum.
