Racism Sll Exists
In the shadows of our history's tale,
Some say racism is gone, like a fading smile,
Like old photos, black and white,
But its roots run deep, sll a blight.
Some brush it off, say it is not so grave,
Yet racism's grip, it is more than a wave,
It is not just words, it's in our core,
Ingrained in our culture, forevermore.
Denial's stronghold, where empathy dies,
Turning a blind eye to others' cries,
Afraid to face it, privilege reigns,
Centuries of wrongs, sll leave their stains.
They say, "Move on," like it is all done,
But racism's scars, they are not yet gone,
White supremacy, snug in its hold,
Nourishes racism, making it bold.
Success, they flaunt, as if it is a cure,
But racism's wound, it sll endures,
Respectability polics, just a guise,
True equality, it sll defies.
Some untouched by racism's sng,
Cannot grasp the pain, the trauma it brings,
Anxiety, trauma, it takes its toll,
Injusce thrives, playing its role.
Denial shields, racism's grip,
Deep in society, hard to strip,
From dark pasts, colonisaon's sway,
Denial's cycle, it is here to stay.
So, let us raise our voices, let them soar,
Against the falsehoods we have heard before,
Only with truth, can jusce find its way,
In truth's light, racism will sway.
