Page 50 - Supporting Anti-Racist practice in Schools
P. 50
The best people to articulate what day-to-day
school is like for young people are young
people themselves.
Schools should talk to students about their
experiences of racism in/around the school.
LISTENING Young people should also have a voice in
interventions and strategies to address these
AND issues.
These issues will also affect Black, Asian and
LEARNING minority ethnic parents, carers or family
members.
It's important to engage with families, ensuring
that minority ethnic and mixed ethnicity families
feel safe within the school and have the same
sense of belonging and influence in their
relationship with the school as majority ethnic
families do.
