The EDI Race Equality Pocket book for implementing an

            EDI culture and systems

This additional part of the Race Equality Pocket book is for staff

who have responsibility for managing attitudes towards race

equality and/or responsibility for developing a culture/system that
support race equality and compliance with the law. You can use the

bullet points as tick-boxes to help you identify those competencies

that you already have and which you need to develop.

 Make sure you understand what the organisation must do to

comply with race equality legislation within the Equality Act

                   2010.

 Check that the organisation’s systems, policies, procedures

and guidelines ensure compliance with the law.

 Work out ways of tackling racial discrimination, promoting
racial equality and fostering good race relationships between

                   groups.

 Decide how to embed this into the organisation’s culture and

                   systems

 Involve staff, volunteers, learners and stakeholders in

developing and reviewing the race equality aspects of policies
                   and practices.

 Work out ways of measuring how effective systems, policies,

procedures and guidelines are at tackling racial discrimination,
promoting racial equality and fostering good race relationships

                   between groups.

 Be aware of how you can contribute to developing systems,
policies, procedures and guidelines that incorporate good and

                   best race equality practice.
